Giving Your Last Drop of Oil: A Lesson in True Surrender
In life, we often come to moments where we feel like we have nothing left to give—just a small bit of oil in our jar. This symbolizes the last of our energy, strength, or hope. But what happens when God asks us for that little bit of oil?
The Bible reminds us that true surrender doesn’t come from abundance but from sacrifice. Like the widow with Elijah, God asks us to give even when it feels impossible. When we do, we invite Him to fill our cups beyond what we could imagine.
Going from Glory to Glory
Many of us grew up believing that going from "glory to glory" meant ascending into greater joy or blessing. However, I’ve learned that it’s more about the process of being crushed, refined, and molded into something new. The crushing isn’t the end—it’s the pathway to the fullness of God’s promises. We don’t see the new wine yet, but it’s coming. And that’s where our faith is truly tested and deepened.
The Call to Step Up
For those who have been comfortable sitting in the back, watching others clamor for recognition, now is the time to step into the position God is calling you to. This isn’t about self-promotion, but about responding to His call with obedience, even when it feels uncomfortable.
God is asking His children to rise—those of us who have spent time in the secret place, cultivating our relationship with Him. He isn’t looking for the loudest or the most visible, but for the consecrated, the devoted, the surrendered.
What It Means to Truly Ask
As we are crushed and refined, our desires begin to change. We no longer ask for the superficial or material, but for the things that matter most—revival, restored families, and the glory of God filling the earth. These are the requests that flow from a heart completely surrendered to Him.
Give Your Last Drop
So, if you’re in a place where you feel like you’ve reached the end, remember that’s where God does His best work. When we offer Him our last drop of oil, He fills us with His abundance, and we witness the miraculous unfold.
It’s okay to feel empty. It’s okay to have nothing left to give. That’s when He takes over, and that’s when the true power of surrender is revealed.
